Dr. Oz has a three-day healthy drive thru diet challenge. All meals are under 500 calories, zero trans-fats and have less than 1,000 mg of sodium for Daymon Patterson to try.

His favorite breakfast meal came from Subway: the egg white with American cheese on 9 grain wheat bread. 320 calories with 3g saturated fat.

Ingredients:
2 chicken breasts
2 tbsp olive oil
8 oz yogurt

1/2 tsp kosher salt

Superfoods to Fight Cancer

Myths

Myth 1: Don’t read in the dark or you’ll hurt your eyes. Your eyes have muscles that can strain, which will cause bloodshot eyes, but it doesn’t hurt your eyes. When your eyes burn, it’s the muscles working, but it won’t damage your eye sight.

Myth 2: Lean back during a nose bleed helps you. When you tilt your head back, the blood goes down the back of your throat and into your stomach, which irritates it and you can vomit. Instead, tilt forward a little, and hold onto the soft part of your nose.

Myth 3: Let your wound get air to heal faster. When you don’t use a bandage, your body has to make its own covering, which is a scab, which makes the healing process longer and it gets larger.

Myth 4: Icing your burn helps it heal. No matter what kind of burn, first, just red, second, scabbing, or third degree burns, when you lose the structure of the skin, and you’ll know if the burn doesn’t hurt you anymore, it’s bad to use ice. It’ll create a chemical reaction and form little icicles. You still want cold, but instead, use cold water and hold it in for 20 minutes, and take ibuprofen. 

Exhaustion Myths

Myth 1: The more vitamins you take the more energy you have. Two vitamins are the best and will make a difference, B-Complex at 50mg and Vitamin D3 1000u. Take them at breakfast and it’ll help you in the afternoon.

Myth 2: Buying non-drowsy cold medicine keeps you awake. No matter what it says on the label, it can still make you drowsy, depending on height and weight, and what affects you. Taking the 12 hour doses can help this problem.

Myth 3: Nightcaps can help you sleep. Alcohol does make you sleepy, but as you metabolize it, it won’t allow you to go into a deep sleep. Clear colored alcohols like vodka and gin is better if you drink later.

Myth 4: Longer afternoon naps give you more energy. Naps can make you more tired if not done properly. More than a half hour causes you to go into a deep sleep and it’s hard to get your brain in gear. To take an afternoon nap, do 25-30 minutes between 1-4pm.

Diet Myths

You can pack onto 30 pounds due to a hidden food allergy, which will cause you to be unable to lose weight. Dairy allergy is a common food allergy, and unlike the hives and swelling, 60 percent can have hidden food sensitivities that can appear hours and days later. Dairy products are everywhere (eggs are not included), but hidden sources are sometimes harder to find.

Desserts like cookies, cake, muffins, all include dairy (also whey).
Canned meat like tuna and packaged deli meat can have milk.
Bread has whey protein which is dairy.
Energy bars also have whey. You can do soy protein to substitute it.

Dairy Detox Plan

There are 3 R’s in this plan.

The first R is to Remove all dairy for a week. To substitute, use unsweetened almond milk to replace milk and extra virgin olive oil for butter.

Electroconvulsive Therapy

Around 100,000 Americans undergo the procedure a year, and it’s now an approved treatment. Dr. Keith Ablow is on the show to discuss the procedure. It induces a seizure in the brain, which resets the chemical balance. Now, you’re asleep and your muscles are relaxed because of a muscle relaxer, and it’s far less volts used (brief pulses). It’s up to 80% effective. Ideal candidates are:

  1. Rapid climax of antidepressants
  2. Suffering delusions
  3. Haven’t gotten better from other treatments

It’s done six to twelve times, and is covered by insurance. There are a few drawbacks, such as memory loss – but that’s very small. You may still have to take an antidepressant after, but instead of several or high doses, it would be much less.

What Organ Causes Your Fatigue?

Your lungs can cause your fatigue, something no one would expect.
