If you missed today’s episode of Dr. Oz, September 24th, this is your recap. Today, Dr. Oz talks about why we have a lack of energy.
Why We Have No Energy
Anger, anxiety and hormones are the three key reasons why women have no energy. However, magnesium is the key to fix it. Three out of four people are magnesium deficient and lack of energy is a key sign.
Signs of Magnesium Deficiency
Irritability, anxiety, lethargy are three signs to this deficiency. When there is low magnesium, your body works harder to replace it, which causes low energy. Most multivitamins don’t contain magnesium because it would make the pill too large, and you can’t take it just once a day, instead you have to eat food that contains mass amounts of magnesium.
Magnesium Grocery List
You must have a balanced diet to get your daily magnesium and Dr. Oz recommends five servings of any of these:
- 1/2 cup boiled spinach
- 1/2 cup quinoa
- 1 cup brown rice
- 1 cup black beans
- 1 cup kidney beans
- 1 cup lentils
- 1 cup raisin bran
- 1 cup shredded wheat
- 1 cup oatmeal
- 2 slices whole wheat bread
- 2 bananas
Don’t eat all five at one time, but instead at different times. You can choose any of these, but make sure one can be a breakfast food.

Dr. Oz Helpful Tips
If you have bad constipation problems, eat 1 cup of raspberries. They have 8 grams of fiber and will help keep you regular. You can also eat them with live culture yogurt because the yogurt wakes up the intestinal system.
